About AMPC:
Founded by Jim Baer in 1981, Associated Mail and
Parcel Centers has grown from a handful of independent
“Mom & Pop” mailbox rental shops into a dynamic,
influential trade organization composed of both
independent and franchise affiliated mail and
parcel/business service centers. AMPC now has over 3,000
active Members and works on behalf of the entire
industry to deliver quality information, advocacy,
support, training/education and vendor relationships to
our constituency.
Charmaine Fennie (our past president) presided over
AMPC for 10 years—from 1994 until her untimely passing
in 2004. Along with numerous other accomplishments,
Charmaine was responsible for creating Neighborhood
Postal Centers® in 1999. NPC is now the recognized
co-brand and buying group for the independent mail and
parcel operator, and is quickly becoming a recognized
leader in the retail mail and parcel channel. With over
2,000 licensed locations, NPC is now the second largest
collective of mail and parcel centers in the world.
The landscape of the mail and parcel center universe
